Last weekend, some of our students had the somber

Last weekend, some of our students had the somber experience of visiting the historic island of Gorée.

Gorée is a tiny island off the coast of Senegal, known for its role in the 15th- to 19th-century Atlantic slave trade. It is now a UNESCO world heritage site. The doorway pictured is the door thousands of individuals passed through as they were boarded onto large ships bound for foreign slave markets.

What an experience for students, families, and teachers to walk through this dark side of history and be reminded of our dependance on God as we navigate the waters of education and life.
